- Have some idea of how much you need to store.
- As packing can seem like a never-ending job, start by doing one room at a time. It will keep each room's belonging's together and in order.
- Clearly label what is in each box and what room it belongs too. This will make it easier to find what you are looking for if ever need be.
- Use good quality, sturdy and clean boxes to place your possessions in. Check the bottom is taped with high quality tape to ensure it doesn’t collapse.
- Do not overfill boxes, as this can make them harder to transport and they will not stack as evenly.
- Bubble Wrap is your best friend!
- Use cushions and sheets to protect crystals and glass wear. Line the box and wrap each item individually as well as taping the box with FRAGILE packing tape.
- If you can, place electronics back into original boxes. This ensures their protection and that all bits and pieces are kept together. If you no longer have the box, ensure that the carton you place it in is lined with bubble wrap for protection.
- Fill the boxes in accordance to weight, stack the heavier items at the bottom of the box and lighten them as you work your way up, this ensures items within the box do not get crushed or damaged.
- When stacking the boxes in your unit be sure to place the heavier ones at the bottom to ensure a sturdy stack and no collapsing.
